The DRAM crisis is making laptops, desktop PCs and gaming handhelds unaffordable for more and more customers. Intel commented on the rising prices at Computex and confirmed how the chip specialist is adapting its strategy to curb price increases over the next few years.

Low-end notebooks running off 4GB of soldered RAM are still a thing, they're the cheap options from every manufacturers in retail channels like Staples - while dirt cheap, they are so low-end that it's beyond me how anyone is expected to enjoy working on these with Win 11's idiotic memory usage, and the manufacturers' pre-installed bloatware.

16Gb is the reasonable minimum if you want to use Windows and open a Web browser. 8Gb is only usable if you have some linux distro that eats 1-2 gigs on start up. Have no idea who's buying 8Gb or less laptop to use Windows...
