Casio's Sound division has been losing millions for years, and the company's own recovery plan tells the full story — staff cuts, market retreats, and a break-even target that's still three years away.

It's Casio really. They're bleeding money on their once profitable divisions, calculators included. Digital times have eroded a lot of their product markets. The only thing that keeps them afloat at this point is their niche watch market. Digital cameras that they once made are gone. Many of their other products are gone now too including their mobile phones, cash registers, etc. I don't see them ever returning to making these, the world has changed and many of the products who had niches for them at one time no longer do. The only thing Casio can do is stop the bleeding with their watches, calculators and keyboards, but the last two have taken major hits lately, and soon it'll likely be just watches, and even then, they're competing against some big names like Seiko and Timex. Good luck Casio, but it's clear you're going to have to rebrand yourself to remain relevant in the digital world.
