Free-to-play MMORPG Dreadmyst 1.0 has officially launched as of Jan 9, 2026, hitting a 5,915 player peak. While reviews are 74% positive, the launch is marred by asset theft claims, lack of legal policies, and ties to a controversial WoW private server developer.

Wrong. Dev paid for the assets. This article is an absolute hatchet job as well. Did you even do any research before writing it? Or did you just doom scroll the Steam reviews page? The Dev shut down his WoW servers because he was abiding by a cease and desist from Blizzard. Also, the game isn't a security threat to your PC nor are you in danger of identity theft because of some risk inherent to the game.

NCsoft does not sell its assets — I've been trying to buy licensing to certain aion art for years now.

Dev did not buy a legit pack, extremely suspicious.

All things I don't care about. I'm not opening an 3rd party account with anything but a junk email. I don't give a damn if he did or didn't steal Albion Assets. And I certainly don't care that he shut down a private server after getting legal threats from a company worth billions with a team of lawyers.

Literally none of these things would ever be a consideration in if I play or not. Is the game good? Yes or no. Don't care if the dev is left or right, or good or bad, just if the game is.
