I honestly don't see the point of playing in 2K or 4K on a laptop with a 16-inch screen...
My laptop has an HD screen, which is more than enough. Logically speaking, it displays more FPS on an HD screen than in 2K or 4K... This laptop is also cheaper with an HD screen and uses less energy than the same laptop with a 2K or 4K screen. So I get more battery life.
On my workstation, I have a 27-inch 2K screen. On my 44-inch TV, I have 4K.
The size of the screen and the distance you are from it affect the quality of the display...
