Canon retro hybrid mirrorless camera based on vintage AE-1 leaks ahead of supposed 2026 launch

It looks as though Canon will soon launch a new camera based on the design of the AE-1 as a new mirrorless camera based on the EOS R6 Mark III's full-frame sensor and a cut-back video-centric feature set. The RE-1 will supposedly launch sometime in 2026, and a recent spec sheet leak suggests that the new camera will be a video-centric model with a surprisingly affordable price point.

i wonder if they will keep the "reload" for film handel, as a kid that was the most fun time "reloading" for next image was amazing. and wish we could have it in the modern digtial for the "feel" of retro
