Japan's Overseas Distribution Association (CODA), representing major entertainment firms such as Square Enix, Bandai Namco, Kadokawa, Studio Ghibli and Cygames, has formally demanded OpenAI stop using members' copyrighted works to train its new video-generation tool Sora 2, alleging the model produces outputs that closely reproduce Japanese content and that an opt-out system is insufficient under Japanese law.
