Because the game is completely redone from ground up, using custom coding and his own assets Nintendo can't touch it. If he used any of Nintendos stuff then he would get into legal issues.

I especially liked the way the lighting and textures were recreated—you can really feel the atmosphere of Hyrule, as if you're walking through familiar locations for the first time. Of course, controlling the character is still just as enjoyable, and the classic mechanics are still there, which is crucial for fans. This experience reminds me of how we sometimes search for new platforms for online entertainment: we want stability, quality, and at the same time, new emotions. Personally, I now think it's definitely worth playing the entire demo and seeing how the original locations come to life in the new engine.
