This article is definitely on point. As an aging millineal gaming dad, I have significantly less time to game than ever before. I've been a PS fan since 2000, when my dad got us the PSX with Crash Bandicoot Warped and spent more time playing with on my PS2 and PS3 than I have sleeping. My gaming days came to a halt during the PS4 era, sinking about 1000 hours into D3 and Rocksmith, but that was about it. I've got a PS5 that I got from Ebay 2 years ago. Paid $300 bucks. I've bought 4 games for it, Spider-Man 1, Miles Morales, D4, and Helldivers. Also from Ebay for about $20 each. Since I don't have PS+ any more, I can't even play 2 of those games.... BF6 plays great on it, but I'm not gonna pay $70 just to watch it collect dust, I haven't upgraded my PS5's SSD....
But you know what I do play while on lunch break at work. Small quick indie games from GamePass. It's one of my critical subscriptions. I doubt I'll ever buy a game again, for any console because of my time limits, but I certainly do like being able to sample AAA games that I know I'm only gonna play 2 or 3 times, and never touch again. Because of GamePass, I've been able to feel like I'm still gaming, and not scammed by $80 AAA slop that still needs 12 months of development before it's actually ready. GamePass actually let me play D4!!! And I was able to realize that I wasted $20 on the PS5 version because I didn't even care to finish the 1st chapter - I found it boring AF... and what's best: I don't even own an Xbox. Never have. I stream it directly from my TV. And guess what. I got to play play the new Doom. Finished the first 2 levels, and I plan to eventually beat the game. GamePass is better for gamers in my situation, cuz right now, my PS5 is just a $300 paperweight I use to play Fortnite while crossfaded, and for my kid to play Roblox on.
