YouTuber ETA PRIME goes hands-on with the upcoming AIM Max+, a new gaming laptop powered by AMD's latest Strix Halo APU. With a focus on delivering power on a budget, it could very well be one of the most interesting product launches in recent weeks.

This laptop is most probably fake. The "manufacturer's" website not working by the time the video went live, since then domain became is unused and the only Google search result about the laptop is the video in question. Allegedly the laptop is supposed to launch in October, but so far it looks like a kickstarter scam.

A price of $1k would be cutting the price of the platform 50-60% not even a year after release. If Framework's desktop with a significantly lesser 385 Max is $1100, I just don't see how this could possibly be $1000. Best case scenario for a 395 Max is $1500.

ETA Prime only says what the company tells him to. Dude is flat out negligent in his shilling.

1000$ is very very unlikely

It's impossible that this will be 1000$. It would destroy the entire low-mid budget laptop market, and even some of the high-end ones.

Also, there's no chance the TDP was only 65W.
In other videos from reviewers who tested with the Flow Z13, the same AI MAX+ 395 needed around 80W of CPU power alone to reach the scores achieved in this video, even with good cooling. The ZBook Ultra performed similarly for around the same wattage supplied. Though, I can't deny that it's still crazy performant for the wattage supplied.

"In gaming benchmarks at native 1600p resolution, Cyberpunk 2077 averaged 72 FPS on High settings with FSR set to Balanced."

You need to reread the definition of "native resolution" lmao FSR balanced means it's literally upscaling from 58% of the output resolution and is FAR from "native".

As long as the RAM is soldered to the motherboard or in a SO-DIMM version, Strix Halo will not pass my door.

If you know ETA Prime, you also know he doesn't do unbiased reviews. He is the king of "the most" -something videos.
I still follow the channel because of the plenty "first look"s he does, and the fairly informative "reviews"

The fact that they keep pairing this with a ~1440p screen makes it a no go for me. The 4060 is not a 1440p card, even on desktop, and if you want to game on this tomorrow or next year expect to make compromises. And no, upscaling should not be the answer, it should be an added bonus.
