The robotaxi wars have officially started as Uber announced plans to acquire tens of thousands of Lucid Gravity SUVs for its autonomous rides. Tesla is planning a quick robotaxi expansion via currently owned vehicles, too, but it just doesn't have a 3-row SUV in the mix.

YET ANOTHER TRSLA HIT PIECE THAT FAILED. It doesn't matter how many cars Uber puts on the street due to Teslas MASSIVE advantage in autonomous driving. In under 3 weeks it's put Waymo in the rearview mirror. Teslas is THE ONLY COMPANY with the clear Robotaxi and this is playing out quickly

Hit piece?  I can't believe who I have to share the world with.

i do not trust my eyes in the dark or rain  & snow storms - Tesla needs more than cameras for me to trust it unsupervised

waymo was required to do the same thing for 6 months.  It's a regulation they have to follow.     How can you comment with no knowledge on the space?

You shouldn't be traveling during those anyway.  You can be ticketed for driving too fast for road conditions.

Doesn't surprise me the ignorance of the people who write these articles. Just a couple of days ago Tesla announced the new L for long version model Y that's almost 8 in longer, 2 in taller, has three rows and six seats. About to be launched in China, coming to the US and other markets this year. They are also going to be bringing in privately owned Teslas to the fleet (anyone will be able to lease their hardware. 4 Version Tesla out for for robo taxi service) along with the two-door robo taxi. They will massively dominate by the end of this year.

Yeah that aint happening. Tesla owners cars are not about to be joining its fleet FOR YEARS if ever. If you disagree, go to one of the betting platforms and put your money where your mouth is if you're not already tired of losing.

Those Waymo robotaxis that were burned in LA were said to have cost 600k each. Anything with a LIDAR is still very expensive. At the end of the day those robotaxis intend to replace drivers (putting millions out of work) with a promise of a cheaper service. If the initial investment (and any expansio) is expensive then there won't be a cheaper service. Corps will just take money that would have gone to drivers as profit. Any initial fare reductions will be reversed when they don't have to compete with human drivers.
