HDMI 2.2 Specification released with up to 96Gb/s bandwidth

The world's latest and potentially most powerful standard for HDMI equipment has now officially been released. The 2.2 Specification allows for double the maximum bandwidth of its predecessor, and may as such pave the way for new, ultra-high-quality monitors with resolutions of up to 16K. HDMI 2.2 might also improve the integrity of audio systems that integrate AV receivers.
