SmartApe Tech claims that the "loneliness epidemic" can finally be solved with its new gadget. The Euvola "Emotional AI Device" is touted to generate an on-screen "Companion" (who can, moreover, apparently be based on a "familiar" face) to sympathize and empathize with the user. Whether it can get past the potential vaporware stage remains to be seen, although it is already clear that the creators should get outdoors and give the Netflix a rest.
