Nintendo Switch 2 display subject to harsh criticism in initial analysis

The Nintendo Switch 2 began shipping today. An initial analysis of the 120 Hz fast 1,080p display has already spawned criticism; the decision to install an IPS panel instead of an OLED panel is having a drastic impact on the display of HDR content and black levels.

So decent hardware internals with 2018 display technology.  I mean, it makes sense.  People like their Mario and Link pixels staying as nostalgic as possible.  Even the Wii was completely outdated on its release, didn't stop the hoards lining up to wave their controllers around.

Nintendo understands their market very, very well.

So basically a low par Switch Pro, the switch 2 cartridges even work on the switch 1.
Why is anybody surprised?
Then you take into account the 64gb minimum cartridge size combined with the physical DRM cartridges and Nintendo should be taking even more criticism.
