Hydrogen could play an increasingly important role in the efficient storage of electricity. But so far, storing and transporting the energy source has been a safety challenge. However, a recent project in Germany claims to have developed a safe and cost-effective method of transporting hydrogen using oxidised iron nuggets.

So they need a 32 ton container to transport 900 kg of hydrogen? How much energy will they use to schlep that thing any meaningful distance?

Efficiency will be mind blowing :D
The cost of truck transport is at best 2 eur/km. Taking for instance 1000 km, that is nothing in Germany, it makes 2000 eur. With road legal weight you move 20 MWh. So the cost is 100 eur/MWh :D
I'm sure the storing process efficiency is as mind blowing :D
