Game publishers could completely stop making physical game discs owing to the 25% tariff on Mexico. Analysts warn that pricing for even the digital versions could increase, along with prices for hardware.

I'm pretty sure most Bluray discs are coming out of Japan/Indonesia/Thailand as of this moment. And the Switch cartridges are coming from Asia 100% percent.

Sounds more like excuses to justify increased costs in games. A digital game should actually be cheaper, not the same price as a physical one since it requires less effort for distribution, it's a mere "usage license" and you have no control over it regarding availability.

But knowing the lazy gamers, they wont vote with their wallet unless prices get crazy like 90$ for base COD game.

Doesn't seem like any other country is going to escape tariffs they just haven't had their turn yet.

Bottom line is you are right. They will increase the prices regardless of true effect. Physical games are the last thing for Gamers to fight back against greed but they just abandoned it, very dumb crowd.

I guess this needs to be said... over & over, huh?

Are the MSM, YTers/shills, ect. just waking up from a 4-year nap?!

PS4/Pro = ~299/399 - no tariffs/tax

PS5/Pro = ~499/899 - no tariffs/tax

If a company sneeze wrong - "oh, that sneeze hurts, we have to increase prices!" ...buTtT, the power of tariffs, though FORCES these companies to either make two choices... reduce their prices/location or close up shop for good. WISE consumers have had enough of this greed/corruption. PERIOD!

WISE consumers are already on a purchasing freeze and WISE consumers DOES NOT need a new iPhone, ect. every year, heck, not even every other year mainly due to... many of these devices have already reached their technical limitations since ~2021.

Uhm... physical game discs still exist? Which games might that be? I thought that stopped around 2010.

The last one I bought physically was Dragon Age Origins in 2009, which I could fully install and play without any internet access. But I don't think there were many more games after that, which allowed that. Almost everything afterwards required at least online activation, and if you did that it basically downloaded all patches or the whole game again.
