Apple silicon MacBook Pro gets removable storage via hacked-on upgradeable M.2 SSD slot

An enterprising engineer has reverse-engineered Apple's MacBook storage interface and created a slotted SSD solution for Apple's laptops. Although the mod certainly voids the warranty and likely hardly makes sense from a cost point of view, it calls into question Apple's reasoning for opting for a complicated soldered storage solution.
