Sandisk's first (micro) SD Express cards are coming soon. These tend to be smaller cards but with particularly high speeds. New card readers are only needed if you want to take advantage of the high speeds.

I can see this becoming a real mess. Consumers will buy these cards expecting these speeds then return and negatively review them en masse when they fail to perform as advertised. Yes, there will be asterisks and fine print on the packaging, but people aren't going to see, and often even understand, that. Heck, people *still* write negative reviews for drives because GB/TB != GiB/TiB.

Yes, the majority of the population are illiterate idiots, even the younger generations, who should have already taken compulsory computer science courses at school and where they have been teaching the difference in SI prefixes for 25 years since 1999, when MB/GB/TB became unequal to MiB/ GiB/TiB. Every day I see such stupid reviews in local marketplaces, where more idiots claim that the manufacturer deceived them with the size of some hdd/ssd/flash/sd drive. This stream of population moronicity is endless, because mass education is becoming more and more moronic...
They know all about race theory and leftist theories, but they don't know anything that graduates of the school have been required to know for 25 years...
