Acer's Predator Triton 14 is a slim 14-inch gamer with an OLED touchscreen aimed at creative users and gamers. It combines an efficient Lunar Lake processor with the 110-watt GeForce RTX 5070. However, the test apparently shows weaknesses in the OLED and the fan noise.

Raster

Quote from: 3000 for 8 GB VRAM? on December 30, 2025, 10:27:17I would not even blame the game developers for not optimizing, because time is money and I don't think it's easy to optimize and fit 12 GB of content into 8 GB.

Oh, I would. Have you seen some of the switch ports? Porting latest modern games like sparking zero to a 10 year old tablet SoC with 4 GB ram. Granted it's not the heaviest title but still it among other ports like Witcher 3 are impressive.

If you try to run these same games on pc, you need way more powerful hardware to run at same frame rates for the pc port versions.

What it shows is if the platform is big enough dev's will be willing to invest time in it. There are games that run suboptimal on Series X even though it has tons of memory, mainly because nobody cares about Xbox anymore.

Quote from: 3000 for 8 GB VRAM? on December 30, 2025, 10:27:178 GB VRAM for 2,999 Euros(~$3529)..is this a joke? It costs approx twice as much as I would have expected..

There's no competition in laptop dgpu space. They could charge more. Wonder what's stopping them. It's not like amd even exists as an option here unlike desktop.

I would honestly prefer more raster over vram at this point. Not that I don't like vram but until we get to a point where like we're at desktop rtx 3070 ti levels of performance in igpus. Because right now that's still the main limiting factor in games. We're still at gtx 1660 or below levels of performance. Talking about more mainstream igpus like 890m not halo.

Do you really need a gaming laptop? Do you really travel and have nothing better to-do than to game?

No, don't need a gaming laptop at these prices. And it's not necessarily about travelling but more some people maybe in an environment where there's a lack of space. Not everyone wants to have massive towers.

egpu might be a solution but the problem is it doesn't resolve pricing issues. The ones with egpu 16GB vram are often expensive and the cheaper ones are still 8GB.

The only mainstream device atm with 16GB vram and cheap is the ps5 tbh.
