Two of the premium German automaking brands - Mercedes and BMW - barely waited for Tesla to announce its Model 3 Highland refresh to out its competitors. BMW is resurrecting its turnaround mascot the Neue Classe, while Mercedes presented a sleek CLA Class with longer range than the Highland.

Just the facts

Until this automobile is in volume production, this is practically a non-story and just another promise, that is unlikely to be delivered.

nope

I don't know how concepts planned for 2 years from now (in reality it will be 3 or 4 years) can be considered rivals to something that is doing volume production today.

The BMW rival for the Highland is the i4 and newly announced i5 and from Mercedes there's the EQE though that one is going after the Model S with size and much more luxury.

It's "Neue Klasse", not "Neue Classe". Look up the correct spelling of your keywords before you stuff them into a headline.

Omg the fanboys out today... Complaining that the decade+ old Tesla tech is getting outklassed. (Pun intended)Then making excuses "this isn't out yet" I mean just because musk teased you with new stuff but can't deliver for 5+ years. On the other hand these other manufacturers actually have and follow a release schedule. Simply to not burn out their Exactly Like what you see happening to Tesla. In fact I can't wait for the cyber truck to actually release (if it does). Sure they claimed 1million preorders. I hope they make a million of them. Then people will finally wake up to the fact this guy isn't out there to help or protect the environment or even improve on the auto industry... Just there to scam and make a quick buck. He teases something new Tesla stock climbs, he sells shares. Rinse and repeat.
