Xiaomi has presented its solid-state battery technology that it claims improves energy density by a third relative to conventional lithium-ion batteries. According to the company, a prototype Xiaomi 13 has a 6,000 mAh capacity compared to the 4,500 mAh that ships in retail units.

These battery articles always end with "But unfortunately something... and that product doesn't exist, but who knows in the future..." Same thing, for the past two decades.

Was thinking the same thing. Just once I'd like to read an article about a major battery advancement that's already in production or at least will be very shortly. Otherwise, considering the numerous vaporware advancements for batteries and other tech I've seen over the years, articles like these, while not necessarily intended as such, are little more than clickbait.

I luv that solid state battery, a big jump from lithium ion which will benefit phones, EV'S and much more.
