According to a new Bloomberg report, Apple's ARM-powered MacBooks could arrive earlier than expected. The report indicates that Apple will host a second event in November to unveil their new MacBook lineup. This means that the transition from x86 could start before 2021.

We already knew that there will be ARM Macs this year since WWDC in June.

Why should i buy a slower Macbook with arm, just because it will have better integration?

I'll wait for some real independent benchmarks from these Apple silicon Mac's running apps in Rosetta 2 before making any plans to buy a Apple silicon Mac. I went though similar pains with Apple moving to Intel from Power PC. They used Rosetta back then in the changeover and it was not all that great at first. Yeah Apple silicon works well on IOS because it started out with ARM chips. Sure iPad Pro's are fast but it's a different OS then Mac OS and used a bit differently then Mac users.

as a no-geek enduser i think having x86 desktop-like experience with Office Word or Photoshop is a far more important question than whether apple's ARM cpu is faster than intel's x86 or not. both cpus are fast enough for most tasks.
