Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga (OLED) Convertible Review

Integrated battery or can I easily switch to new battery? Easy to clean fan? Easy to install a bigger ssd?

I'm sort of shocked that with all your testing, you didn't seem to devote any time at all to discussing the sharpness and fit of the Yoga's OLED screen with plain text.  For the record, it's mostly great, but it does have color fringing problems. I know. I have two of them. Tomorrow we're replacing the panel, but I am 90% confident it won't fix the issue. Perhaps an updated video driver could, but its almost as if its a design flaw.

Still having said that, and noting that I did have a Surface 4 at one point, the OLED X1 Yoga is bar far the BEST DAMN LAPTOP I've ever owned!! The colors and black level are amazing, the video is sharp, the sturdiness (kills the Surface 4) is impressive. I use it as a tablet, as a Tent, and most often, as a laptop.  Do splurge for 20FR with i7-6600/512SSD/16GB - it's well worth it!!

In your review of the Dell XPS, the brightness was rated at 297. The OLED on this X1 is rated at 277. I always thought the Dell XPS screen was very bright. If the OLED X1 comes close, that would be great.  Is the 20 point difference significant?

Looks like an incredible machine but I am concerned with battery in that I take long plane trips. Is it a replaceable battery?

No, the battery is not replaceable, but it would be fine on a plane for may reasons. I've since replaced my X1 OLED Carbon Yoga with a much bigger and heavier Lenovo (P71) which just goes directly into the overhead compartment and never comes out on flights. Maybe I ever get a free upgrade to 1st class, I'll try it. The reason for the change is, as great as the X1 is, in the end, I need a bigger screen for my work.
