Google Gemini turns your Gems into skills on November 17

Google is retiring Gems in Gemini. From November 17, 2026, custom, premade and shared Gems will be converted to skills automatically, and Gemini already shows the notice to users in Germany. According to Google, skills require the Keep Activity setting and are limited to users over 18. Here is what to check before the switch.
