ChatGPT free users get unlimited chats, but not until next week

OpenAI is scrapping the message limit for ChatGPT Free and Go and making GPT-5.6 Luna the default model. Check today, though, and the unlimited chats are not there yet: they arrive in the week of August 10. Here is what already works and where the limits stay.

On a similar/same level to GPT-5.6 Luna is the model DeepSeek-V4-Flash-0731 and if you don't have enough VRAM + RAM, you can offloaded the rest to a SSD and for chatting the speed is still usable (depends on the speed of the SSD and how much of the model is offloaded to it).
