No Rest for the Wicked dev claims he never liked Baldur’s Gate 3’s $60 Early Access price, saying early supporters should get “some extra love”

No rest didn't need NEARLY the capitol that BG3 needed to get off the ground. Why are we kicking sand at other devs? Won't be buying this based on principal.

Uhh, I paid $50, they increased the price and added features like the OST and art book once it went into preorder and I still got those at no additional cost. And that was 5 weeks before launch, they announced the price increase to $60 for the full release while stating they wouldn't increase it to $70 as had become standard. And the reason I remember it is bc the reason I hadn't bought it sooner was I didn't want to suddenly have to pay additional money to play the full game and they posted that wouldn't happen.

I'd literally have to pay twice what I did for BG3 if it were any other AAA game. For that access and content, you're talking a minimum of $90 and up to $120 w/o any physical goodies. For 5 weeks EA, Ubisoft would likely add a 0 to that.

Uuh i paid 40 or something and they addes extra stuff later for the early acces ppl geez these ppl who think they can just invent numbers and write articles about it then should really stop making things look bad when they arent.

Larian is one of the few companies that still makes games for their players and not for their pockets like ubisoft ea and such thise are pure money grabbing games making kids addicted to lootboxes and buying the newest craze for and spend 1000s of dollars/euros whatever to something purely digital how about you nag about those things instead of trying to ruin a GOOD companies name!

Really flogging those BG3 images to earn clicks on unrelated game articles, eh?

Seems cheap and squirrelly.

Please, please take this article down. You're punching down at developers who actually care about this industry for the sake of... Lifting up other developers?

What relevance does this game have to Baldurs Gate 3? Why did you feel the need to make this connection, other than to get clicks and generate revenue on your website?

You've not only taken this developer's words out of context, you have lied about the pre-release price of BG3 to attack a developer you think is more successful than the one you're trying to promote. Why not try to raise the industry up to that level, rather than sow deceit in an industry that is already fighting itself for clicks?

This is dishonest reporting at its finest. You should be ashamed of lying about somebody else's business to generate clicks. BG3 was less than that in pre-order, this developer did not make the attack you're claiming they did, and your article is inflammatory. Be ashamed and as I said at the start, delete this.
