this is a huge loss to the entire industry. I wouldn't rule out foul play tbh as Zampella does get vocal at times (leaving IW due to disagreement with Activision, indirectly slam EA by suggesting players to get BF6 on Steam as EA app infra can't handle the load). He pretty much save EA many times, definitely able to override executives influence and probably rub the wrong way with some EA execs. It took almost a day for EA to release a statement while industry colleagues already confirmed the loss
