A US lawsuit alleges that OpenAI and Microsoft used ChatGPT in a manner that exacerbated a perpetrator's psychosis, indirectly contributing to a fatal crime. The case's outcome could play a crucial role in shaping how AI companies are held accountable in comparable situations.

QuoteUnder Section 230 of US law, online platforms are generally not held liable for content created by third parties, as they are classified as intermediaries rather than publishers.

Uhm... under the hood; ChatGPT is a neural system; but... in the market; ChatGPT is a commercial product!

C'mon, folks... a child could understand this situation.

If... uhm... bureaucracy doesn't get involved, MS & ChatGPT are screwed.

As much as I can see how certain aspects of AI being useleful, it is blatantly obvious it need to be regulated for the good of society.  But as long as we live in the world that is built around greedy politics and corporate creed runs rampant, it's just not going to happen (or at least anytime soon).

The real crime was when the gov during covid required children, in an extreme overreach of true fascism, require google in schools for online class. First there are non-corpatism\fascist alt which were ignored. Now they have the kids on these fascist systems like google and school chromebooks exposed to a.i. bypassing the parents right of protecting the child. So they created the problem of a.i. dangers. As far as adults, a.i. needs to be more open. Its constrained to many false narrative psuedo facts, the real danger is public opinion manipulation and fear mongering. This is done by the same beauracrasies you want to regulate us. Gov has no place in regulating private a.i. use and development. Its a censorship scam. Create problem, force a solution that before would have been too far left totalitarian to be excepted otherwise.
