I too feel like 8k for a professional 32" display is overkill. I am sure it is great but I would never need more that 6k in a 32" and even that feels too much, as on a 4k I use 150% scaling, which results in a size of 2560x1440 equivalent, which means that a 5120x1880 would be the sweet spot for me. Sure, scaling the 8K at 300% results in the same 2560x1440 equivalency, but no one is talking about the graphics requirements such a high resolution of 8K is posing on the GPU side.
Everything slows down on a 4k display compared to a native 2560x1440 px one. Imagine using an 8K, the scaling doesn't help, it still is an 8K resolution monster! Lightroom, Photoshop, Davinci, all of them would demand 4 times the GPU power to runs as smooth as a 4k!
