If it doesnt run MacOS it isnt an iMac Alternative.  Its just an All in One PC.  Do you mouth breathers not understand Mac Users use Mac so they DO NOT HAVE TO USE WINDOWS? We dont give 2 craps about "hardware" comparisons.  We care if we have to use garbage windows, linux, or our preferred OS.

I agree with your first statement (albeit imacs are also all-in-ones, but no particular reason to bring up imacs), but not with your second. Most people don't care about the OS be with windows, mac or etc. Most people just use whatever OS comes with their device.

If tomorrow mac had windows as default and windows pcs had mac as default, most people would grumble how stuff changed, then pretend nothing ever happened and go on with their day.

Why not? Do you use an OS or your needed apps and software (on that OS)? I have an M4 Air + two ThinkPads (P16 with Win 11 and X1 Carbon with Fedora), and I couldn't care less about the OS as long as all those apps I need work without any issues.

Software-wise quite a few people might use either system but changing systems also requires changing low level system usage, habits, Apple tax, possibly notch and more. One might claim "many people" (that is, maybe 20 ~ 40%) but "most people" (>50%) is a stronger claim.

Compare interchangeability of Windows and Linux. Many people might change but the "year of Linux" never arrives, it seems. Changing systems can be a hard hurdle despite the occasional "grandpa did it" reports or flexible people like you.

Aren't you proving my point exactly?

How many people who get a windows pc do a fresh install of windows without oem bloat? How many people put a hackintosh on their windows pcs?

Do you honestly believe if macs came with windows by default, and macos existed as an option to manually install like linux on them, that macos would make up even 10% of mac users?
