Embark Studios' Arc Raiders drew impressive player numbers during its recent Server Slam playtest, with design director Virgil Watkins calling the limited-access playtests of Bungie's Marathon an inadvertent "A/B test" that allowed teams to compare player reactions to markedly different designs across multiple platforms.
