Germany has decided not to approve the Tesla Cybertruck for road use. The electric pickup truck was found to violate EU safety standards when members of the US Army applied for a permit.

As was expected.
People in Europe tend to walk and bike to places instead of depending on cars all the time, and the Cybertruck is clearly not up to par on pedestrian safety standards, so it's incompatible with sharing the same roads and streets.

small kei cars not good. big cars not good. EU should let people buy what they want instead focusing on stimulating german automotive industry

It's almost as if there was zero market research before this awful vehicle was foisted upon the public. Thankfully, there is no hope that this silly thing will be produced after 2026.

I doubt European people would even want to buy small cars that aren't optimised for their heights or big cars that aren't optimised for the road sizes.

Good for Germany, good for EU. The Cybertruck is a stupid design for people who think they're being clever by being antisocial.

I'm from Switzerland, despite the Sharp Edges and the weight, the CT would have more Problems because of narrow and very edgy turns in lots of European City's. I would like to see them more often (some are here with US-Plates) but they would never go in one of European public Parking places. So it would clearly not be practical anywhere here around. JFI
