Battlefield 6 might be sacrificing RT-enhanced visuals to focus on optimization at the lower end of its player base instead, as its technical director stated development was "focused on making the game as optimized as possible for the default settings and the default users."

Alright. So, what justifies 70 bones? BF6 visuals is just a tad better than BF5 but at least BF5 has a bit of RT.  Was the reason for the continued price hike... "growing costs in tech in games," cause is it definitely not due to the number of employees today; given the mass layoffs everywhere.

Adding the latest technology is only an option for users, not a necessity for all. Including RT/PT wouldn't have ruined the game experience for those who choose to leave those features disabled, especially in multiplayer.

No. EA is just trying to make a quick buck and call it a day, due to its failures over the years. They're counting on BF6 to make up for a lot of missed revenue by playing it safe and cheap... at players' expense; releasing a full-priced game without taking real risks/new technologies. Plain and simple.
