It would be a real shame if this device remained confined to its current market. With a high-end SoC at its core, the compact Redmi K Pad delivers performance on par with modern flagship smartphones, making it a strong contender against iPad Mini (2024). Xiaomi has also equipped the tablet with premium features including a 165 Hz display, stylus support, Wi-Fi 7 and two USB ports, which are rare in this size class.

This is a good tablet but you glossing over the fact it has head phone jack and even worse no expandable storage is a crime to humanity .
People can live without 5G modem or OLED for a high performing "budget" tablet but again mainly not having expandable storage In this day and age is a joke especially when you see them in much cheaper tablets

Bought this in a Xiaomi store in the greater China region and no regrets. A few weeks in, there are a few things I would add in terms of the review.

The hardware and form factor are excellent, and far better value than the Ipad mini. It's basically the iPad mini pro I've wanted for years that never arrived (and likely never will).

That said, there are a few flaws that need to be pointed out: main one, unfortunately, is security. There is no biometric security aside from 2D face scanning, which is mostly just to keep the kids out. That's a big one, because it really limits use cases.

The second main issue is software - it literally took weeks to debloat and secure (as much as possible) the tablet in terms of Xiaomi apps transmitting far too much data to places you don't want your data going. I have Netguard blocking whatever it can. To be fair, this is a problem other manufacturers have as well.

I'd still take this over the iPad mini in terms of hardware, but also sheer fun factor in a near perfect form factor.
