That's no "dining car".  Amtrak won't even put in seats.

No need. You can take it to your seat, or if you prefer to eat there, you can eat on a standing table. That's common practice almost everywhere.

In 1972, I rode the Metroliner from Baltimore to NYC.  On one stretch, we ran at a speed of 117 MPH, according to the readout in the engineer's cab.  Fifty years later, we are without any significant gains.
