Well they have gotten rid of anything in the ultra portable realm save for a few chrome books and the odd and rare super low end/cheap eMMC laptop. Then they axes anything in the 11 or 12in size...so why not axe 13in laptops too...
Soon laptops will be like mobile tech is and everything will look the same and the size and functionality will all be the same. Remember the days of sliders and physical keyboards? Or how about when we had size and OS choices? Now you can't tell if it's a Samsung or Apple phone that someone's using because they are all the same shape and size...only the ultra nerdy can tell by the camera. Laptops are headed in the same homogenized grey-man place that mobile tech has been on for years. No more diversity. No more options or choices. Everything is the same and you have 2 maybe 3 choices and they are all so close that you have to specify which model because nobody can tell the difference.
Oh and repairability or upgradeability??? Don't even think about it! I love tech...but a lot less the past several years because these companies have taken so much from us in their drove for planned obsolescence, e-waste, and their next buzz word(s) to sell you tech you don't need that's sold as life changing but in reality is maybe 5% faster. Oh and since everything on your $2000+ high end machine is soldered or sealed there is nothing you can do about it but get a new system...
