Yes we are starting to see more and more of these cartoony bright rpgs with a lot of purple and not an ounce of dark or grit. I also agree with everything else you said even though most people will ignore that part. When a game is top notch it's a whole vibe, the atmosphere, the immersion. That's hard to accomplish when you have ideas and values that seem out of place or forced. If they manage to make a great game I could look past it though because that's really the most important thing, games like this that full of personal beliefs and have devs who are trash talking gamers months before release usually are not good though.
