Sony to stop producing recordable Blu-ray discs, other physical media in February

Sony will shutter production of various physical media in February. This includes recordable Blu-ray discs, MiniDV tapes, and more. Sony also stated it will not produce anything to replace these forms of media storage.

I hope the price for other brands recordable discs will not rise by much. Hard drives were failing far more often than discs, so optical discs still optimal storage for me.
