Asus has updated its slim ROG Zephyrus G16 gaming laptop. For the 2025 models, the top-of-the-line version will feature an Arrow Lake processor and the new GeForce RTX 5090. The RAM remains soldered, but the maximum storage capacity has been doubled to 64 GB.

The pricing of the previous model in EUSSR was already ridiculous.

Now it's just becoming comical, nothing here can justify a €5k price tag

It shouldn't require a bank loan to buy a friggin laptop. I'm not just talking about the 5090 either, but you can barely get a hold of a 5070 for anywhere near as low as $1,500. Disgraceful.

The only reasonably priced laptops where I'm at, are intel. Lunar lake or meteor lake with rtx 4000.

Unfortunately, I've been too traumatized by intels igpu graphics drivers to consider going back to them ever again.

Also, getting a 8GB vram rtx 4060 in 2025 doesn't sit well with me. Considering even the switch 2 comes with 12GB and costs almost 3x less than said laptop.

Will these slimmer laptops, performance per watt and performance on battery is important. Could you please start adding those to your tests. Finishing off a project while waiting to board a plane for example, is relevant to many.

€5000 is way too much, of course. However, your reasoning is flawed: not everybody buys a "gaming laptop" (PR tag) for [3D] gaming but quite a few use their notebooks for other purposes.
