Toyota has announced that it will be recalling over 12,000 of its bZ3 sedans in China that it built in cooperation with BYD. The reason for the recall comes down to faulty rear door handles that occasionally stop working or, even worse, randomly open while driving. The issue is so severe that Toyota has asked owners to immediately stop driving the vehicles, citing safety concerns.

Just shocking quality control all around. If they struggle to get a doorhandle right I don't want to know what the state of the rest of the electronics is like. Doors opening while driving, bad quality batteries catching fire? No thanks.
Doors absolutely should have a purely mechanical mechanism to fallback on.

Mr Majestyk

So why are people buying new car tripe if they don't like it? Don't me wrong I thing most modern cars are hideous inside an out especially EV's and don't get me started about the deplorable pricing. But QC has been sliding for 15 years as manufacturers get itno an arms race to cram more an more technological crap into cars nearly none of what's needed. However, the crucially important things like brakes, steering, handling, seating, practicality ease of servicing have all be ignored. Prices have skyrocketed and quality has plunged.
