The top-tier Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is currently on sale at Amazon. The 42% discount drops the price to US$699, which is the same price as the new Galaxy S23. The S22 Ultra offers similar performance to the S23 but adds a more robust camera system.

So basically flagships are overpriced by hundreds of not ~thousand on release. So wait for the phones for x months to purchase at your budget.
