Intel's Xe DG1 dGPU will only work with select CPU and chipset combinations and will require a BIOS update in order to be recognized. Intel said that Coffee Lake-S and Comet Lake-S CPUs are supported on specific midrange and budget 300 and 400-series chipsets. This rules out any possibility of the GPU being compatible with AMD systems.

These seem pointless. First, how much longer are systems even going to be built with those old chips? Second, for "low-cost multimedia machines," the iGPU in even Coffee Lake should be sufficient, and if it's not, why bother with this vs just getting a real dGPU? And if you need the extra performance, why not just get Tiger Lake or Ryzen, which would probably be cheaper?

This MUST BE some kind of India-Russia-China exclusive.
And what a wonderful idea. It would really help to re-envigorate our markets. Most OEM PCs here are 9th/10th gen + UHD 630, with an occasional GT 730 (Dell, HP) or GTX 1650 slipping through.
P. S. for persepctive: the market is ~2B customers. Ryzen's unheard of. RX 550 & GT 1030 are exceedingly rare. Intel & NVIDIA are the only reliable chip suppliers here, AMD don't grace us since c. 2017.
