With its LOQ series, Lenovo tries out a new name for affordable gaming laptops compared to the more expensive Legion models. The current 16-inch model is affordable, and the performance is right. So where is the hitch? We test the gaming laptop with an RTX 4060!

Could you please mention what was the use case that reached the 211 watt peak power consumption?
As in many areas it only ships with a maximum of 170 watt charger.

So this laptop here is 1500€ and you call it 10 times (Ctrl + F) affordable. Ok.

Captiva Advanced Gaming I74-121 (wild name) is 1700€ and you called it - inexpensive ➡ ( https://www.notebookcheck.net/Captiva-Advanced-Gaming-I74-121-Clevo-V150RND-review-An-inexpensive-gaming-laptop-with-a-powerful-RTX-4060.755142.0.html )

Let's for a moment disregard the fact that inexpensive is below affordable but is this some kind of joke or trolling going on here (and in the other article) or what? Can we expect affordable inexpensive budget gamers at around 2400€ in 2024?

Unfortunately, it appears that most of the power consumption comes from the backlight. On my 60Wh model, the battery only lasts about 2-3h, with the powertop utility for Linux reporting that the backlight consumes a whopping 26W at minimum brightness, so it seems a software update won't be helping here. Combined with the absolutely chunky included 230W charger, it definitely feels like a lot to lug around, and I'm glad that I have a nice hiking backpack for school.
