24" 1080p is the best and most used size & resolution to play competitive titles, and many of them on Steam are exactly those, such as Counter Strike 2 or Apex. Just those two mentioned have 1.15M online players at this moment, more than literally all AAA tiles in the top 250 combined.
No one serious is going to play competitive FPS games on large monitors (or TVs) in high resolutions, and 27" 1440p is already pushing the comfort zone. On the contrary, no one serious is going to play Baldur's Gate 3 or Hellblade 2 on a 24" 1080p screen if they have an option and ability to enjoy them on a large display in high resolution.
Also what Hotz said above me, completely true.

Hallo Elmar

It's not only that, it's also that higher resolutions would require better GPUs for gaming in native resolution. And the majority of gamers lingers around midrange GPUs (like a rtx 3060). Why should they make it worse for themselves, and buy a higher resolution screen?
I'm currently also on a 23" 1080p panel, and wouldn't even want a higher resolution... it's clean and sharp, no font scaling or icon scaling required, and also fine for image editing.

Quote from: Mr Majestyk on Today at 02:49:20In some countries like Australia prices are going higher and higher despite having huge solar panel uptake and large scale renewable projects in place or in development.
BTW Saudi Arabi is delivering solar power for ~2c/kWhr and the USA for ~3c/kWhr. In Australia consumers are being slugged 30-50c/kWhr and paid vritually nothing for their excess solar.
So... the explanation is elsewhere. What is the reason?

Of course it does. 1080p panels are currently the cheapest to make. No matter the diagonal.
