Canonical has seemingly crippled Ubuntu 19.10 for gamers, having removed all 32-bit support from the upcoming OS. Anything requiring 32-bit libraries or packages will not install, causing Valve to abandon Steam support for all Ubuntu releases going forwards.

Freaking Ubuntu. Steam and GoG were a few of the point on the increasingly short list of reasons to use Ubuntu. Now that they're gone, there's little that Ubuntu has to offer outside of UI. Truly, the Apple of Linux distros.
BTW, if you want to game on Linux, POP!os is showing a lot of promise.
I see the year of the Linux Desktop is delayed once more by boneheaded decisions.
It's one thing to require 64bit HW. Almost all x86 HW is 64bit nowadays. Another entirely to require 64bit software, too. Not all software even benefits from 64bit.
That's not correct at this time. Ubuntu has stated that 32-bit libs will be available through 19.10 and the next LTS release.
