Title: Lenovo ThinkPad E495 & E595: ThinkPad Laptops with AMD Ryzen 3000 listed online for the first time
Post by: Redaktion on April 17, 2019, 15:38:06
AMD Ryzen 3000 for laptops has been announced a few months ago and the PC OEMs are starting to release more and more new laptops with these CPUs. Now, two new Lenovo ThinkPad laptops are listed on the website of the manufacturer. With the new Ryzen 3000 processors, the business laptops ThinkPad E495 and ThinkPad E595 are the direct successors of the E485 and E585.

Lenovo fans keep telling me that "The E485/585 silently being removed is no big deal because the E495/595 are coming soon" but Lenovo US does not even recognize the search term. If these are only being tossed into Brexitland then we can see Lenovo again failing to offer the AMD version for sale in a sensible way.

No backlit keyboard? Not bothering to copy basic BIOS fixes from the A495? Not offering in the US? Sigh. Summer is laptop sale season and they don't appear to be interested in undercutting the Intel volume.

Should I just get the lowest spec options for ram and storage, and upgrade them later?

A heads up for you: the E495 is now out for sale on Lenovo's homepage.

A review of how this one actually performs would be absolutely great!
