Title: TSMC incident may put AMD and Nvidia GPU/CPU supply at risk
Post by: Redaktion on January 29, 2019, 22:04:20
TSMC confirmed that around 10,000 wafers were compromised, but the Taiwanese company has yet to make an official statement about the full extent of the damages and the exact circumstances of the incident. The unfortunate event could create AMD CPU / Nvidia GPU shortages and artificial MSRP increases in the coming months.

The Ryzen 2000 series is made at Global Foundries, not TSMC

As pointed out, Ryzen 2000 are made at GloFo, not TSMC.
Only "AMD" chips that could be affected are the ones going to Xbox One X and PS4 Pro, which are made on TSMC 16nm, but there's no confirmation wether they're made at Fab 14 B or some other fab.
Besides NVIDIA confirmed affected companies include MediaTek and Huawei (HiSilicon)
