Title: Nvidia could use the 20XX suffix for the next gen GeForce GTX GPUs after all
Post by: Redaktion on August 03, 2018, 21:36:37
Initially rumored to be called GTX 20xxx, the next gen Nvidia GPU series seemed like it could actually use the 11xx suffix in the past few months. However, a new Russian ECC certificate for Manli's upcoming Nvidia GPUs informs that the series could use the 20xx denomination after all. Additionally, it mentions that the GPUs use the Ampere architecture.

I think they should go with 20xx number. Would make more sense somehow. Easier to remember.

Turing would make more sense from an alphabetical point of view: Fermi, Kepler, Maxwell, Pascal, Turing
