Slim case, medium/small 14" size, screen is not crap (is actually kind'a good), it has "enough" CPU, GPU and SSD speeds for web surfing and the like, great wifi+bluetooth, very long battery life...
Only thing I can think of is those non-upgradeable 4 GB, that I'd prefer 8 GB (which would make it a bit more future-proof), but... taking into consideration current RAM prices (through the roof), and this laptop's characteristics/price ratio, this thing is PERFECT for my father.

Would need some advice if possible:
1- Would this Acer Swift 1 laptop (Pentium N5000, 4Gb, and 128Gb SSD) be enough for video streaming (Youtube, etc..), working with Office documents, and some light photo editing?
2- There is an opportunity to get this laptop with a 8Gb of RAM instead of 4Gb, would this make a significant difference in performance knowing that its still N5000 processor and 128Gb of SSD storage?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My local seller has variant with 8GB RAM + 128GB SSD.
Yeah does not heat up maybe, but for sure replace stock passive cooling with copper shim and thermal paste, does not cost much.
Lack of bass etc could be get minor boosts with realtek driver updates.

Nice laptop. Got the scandinavian version with 8gb and 256ssd. It handles video playback and surfing silently, enough for me. ;D
I got this laptop a few days ago and it runs really well. I opened it up and added a 500GB SSD on the m.2 slot, however, I can't boot up from this drive. I cloned it, set it up as 1st priority on the BIOS.. but nope, it keeps starting from the internal 64GB eMMC.
What can I do? thanks

Yes for both, it should do just fine on regular browsing and working. Perhaps not 4K youtube or gaming.
Adding ram is *always* a benifit, I think laptops should always come wth atleast 8GB of ram
