AMD's new desktop APUs Ryzen 5 2400G and Ryzen 5 2200G brought a breath of fresh air to the low-budget segment. The second generation is supposed to succeed in the performance market as well, and to these ends AMD has released two brandy-new Ryzen CPUs. Let's find out whether or not they can compete at eye level with Intel's Coffee Lake.

Any info about the immunity against Meltdown and the other guy?

An X470 motherboard is not a requirement for the new CPUs per se, but it is recommended due to its support for XFR2 Enhanced and Precision Boost Overdrive

Actually, all 300-series boards support XFR2.

Please take note of what Gamers Nexus tested. Overclocking efficiency matters a ton here.

They hit 4GHz on all cores for the 2700X with a THIRD OF A VOLT LESS than with the 1700X. It dropped power draw by as much as 70 watts.
