Apple may finally be ditching its aging low resolution 13.3-inch 1440 x 900 pixel panels for a more up-to-date 2560 x 1600 variant manufactured by LG. The next generation 2018 MacBook Air is expected to be the first to carry these new Retina displays when it ships later this year.

This'll jack up the price by a huge amount, which might lose the reasoning of being "cheap".
"Retina" resolution and IPS viewing angles are welcome, but IMO the biggest issue of the current MBA has always been the low sRGB of the display. Colors don't pop like they do on every other Apple computer available today. I'll assume it's safe to expect that this new MBA display will have better sRGB.
